Impression rules

This document is a translation of «Impression rules» in English. In case of conflict between the Russian version of «Impression rules» and this translation - only the Russian version is legally binding. Mandatory rendering condition of Yandex’s services for customer promotional materials placement is the customer’s acceptance and compliance with requirements and conditions set forth in this document named "Impression rules" (hereinafter - the "Impression rules", "Rules").

1. Definitions

Yandex Resources – Yandex’s information resources in the Internet and/or computer programs (inter alia, for mobile devices), including the Services.

Yandex.Search – Yandex’s information system meant to search the online information the User is looking for, available, inter alia, at yandex.xx, where xx is any top-level or second-level domain, where Yandex is technically capable to render Services.

Yandex.Travel – an information & reference service providing information on offers of a package of travel and accommodation services rendered at a common price under a tourist product contract between the User and a tour operator (tours), and information on hotels and booking offers, available, inter alia, at travel.yandex.xx, where xx is any top-level or second-level domain, where Yandex is technically capable to render Services.

Yandex.Flights – an information & reference service providing information on flights, airlines, air ticket costs and the possibility to choose air tickets by dates, departure or arrival time, airlines and other parameters, available, inter alia, at avia.yandex.xx, where xx is any top-level or second-level domain, where Yandex is technically capable to render Services.

For the purposes of this document, Yandex.Travel and Yandex.Flights shall be jointly referred to as the Services.

User - an individual who makes use of Yandex.Search for its intended purpose, in accordance with the user agreement, available at https://yandex.ru/legal/termsofuse/ and/or Yandex.Travel in accordance with the user agreement available at https://yandex.ru/legal/termsofuse/.

Hotel’s Official Web Site – the Hotel’s site in the Internet, the copyright and (or) the administration of which, according to Yandex, is carried out directly or indirectly by the Hotel. Yandex determines the Official Web Site as it sees fit.

This document can use the terms that are not defined in the Rules. In this case the term shall be interpreted in accordance with the text of the Agreement to provide services. In the term clear interpretation absence in the text of the Rules and in the Agreement the term interpretation is defined: in the first place by the legislation of the Russian Federation, in the second place - by the Yandex site, then by the definition that prevails (is in general use) in the Internet.

2. Advertising Spaces

Advertising and information material data impression (hereinafter referred to as – "Advertisements") in the Advertising Spaces can be marked as "Advertising".

Advertisements can be shown in the following Advertising Spaces:

2.1. On Yandex.Search search results pages (http://www.yandex.xx/ - depending on the Geotargeting stipulated by the Parties) - in conjunction with the Hotel’s Official Web Site or the Hotel’s Official Web Sites, or, given the number of such sites, as reflected by the page issue. Advertisements are impressed in the format of “Price comparison" (comparison with prices offered by the Hotels booking systems specified in the pop-up units), if Yandex received more than 1 Advertisement. The pop-up unit is displayed when the User clicks the «Book» button or any similar button provided by Yandex.Search located in Yandex.Search referred to the Hotel’s Official Web Site.

2.2. On Yandex.Travel pages. Advertisements can be impressed in the format of “Price comparison” (comparison with prices offered by the Hotels booking systems), if Yandex received more than 1 Advertisement.

2.2.1. in the Hotel Card:

  • if Yandex has 5 or less Advertisements of Customers for this Hotel – all Advertisements of Customers are displayed;

  • if Yandex has more than 5 Advertisements of Customers for this Hotel – 5 Advertisements of Customers are displayed along with the “More” button (or any other button similar in its functionality), which, when clicked, shows all the other Advertisements of Customers for this Hotel.

2.2.2. in search results of the “Hotels” section:

  • the Advertisement is displayed with the lowest cost of temporary accommodation services provided by Customers taking into account the dates chosen by the User / determined otherwise.

2.3. on Yandex.Flights pages:

  • 10 Advertisements are displayed with the lowest cost of temporary accommodation services provided by Customers taking into account the dates chosen by the User / determined otherwise (in ascending order of such cost), and/or 10 Advertisements are displayed by the most popular Hotel criterion (in descending order). In this respect, Yandex determines the Hotel popularity criterion at own discretion. Yandex may not disclose the algorithm of determining the popularity criterion.

3. Advertisements Impression Conditions

3.1. The selection of Advertisements to be impressed in the Advertising Spaces specified in paragraph 2.1. of the Rules takes into account the Hotel’s Official Site availability in the search results of Yandex.Search formed upon the user's request, as well as the Hotel offering price, provided by the advertiser in the Advertisements.

3.2. For the Advertisements impressed in the Advertising Spaces specified in paragraphs 2.1 and 2.2 above, the impression mode is "price comparison" with the use of the Advertisements of one or more advertisers that meet relevance criteria and offer the lowest prices for hotel services. When changing the accommodation dates with the Hotel (hereinafter, the Date) by the User of Yandex.Search and Yandex.Travel, it is possible to change the advertisers range, whose Advertisements are impressed in the Advertising space.

3.3. The Advertisements are displayed in the currency defined depending on the Geotargeting according to the Agreement at the Advertising Spaces specified in subcl. 2.1 hereof.

3.4. The Advertisements are displayed in Russian roubles at the Advertising Spaces specified in subcl. 2.2 hereof.

3.5. The Advertisements are displayed at the Advertising Spaces specified in subcl. 2.3 hereof according to the following rules:

3.5.1. The Advertisements are displayed in Russian roubles at the Advertising Space avia.yandex.ru;

3.5.2. The Advertisements are displayed in the national currency of the corresponding state at the Advertising Spaces avia.yandex.ua (Ukraine), avia.yandex.kz (the Republic of Kazakhstan), bilet.yandex.com.tr (Turkey);

3.5.3. The Advertisements are displayed in euro at the Advertising Space flights.yandex.com.

3.6. The hotel accommodation cost in the period selected by the User (or determined otherwise) indicated in the Advertisements placed at the Advertising Spaces specified in subcl. 2.3 hereof can be displayed in the currency selected by the User at its own discretion at Yandex.Flights. In case hotel accommodation cost in the period selected by the User (or determined otherwise) is shown in a currency other than the currency specified by the Customer upon delivery of the advertising informational materials, such cost shall be automatically calculated, according to the following rules:

  • in accordance with the exchange rate set by the Bank of Russia as of the date of displaying Advertisements – when displaying advertising informational materials to Users from Russia and other countries, except for Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Belarus and Turkey;

  • in accordance with the exchange rate set by the national/central bank of the relevant state as of the date of displaying Advertisements – when displaying advertising informational materials to Users from Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Belarus and Turkey.

3.7. For the purposes of this document, the User's country shall be identified by the computer IP address (or proxy server) on the Internet related to a specific geographical area basing on Yandex data, or in accordance with the geographical region selected by the User in the settings of Yandex information resources on the Internet as the location region.

3.8. Yandex does not guarantee the impression of Advertisements in all Advertising Spaces.

3.9. Yandex may, from time to time, experiment to improve the quality of the Service and the Services it provides, to develop new offers for Customers and for any other purposes, which may change the Advertising Spaces, their quantity and any other terms of Advertisements Impression. Information on such experiments can be obtained from the help desk through the feedback form at https://yandex.ru/support/travel/troubleshooting.html stating the request reason and the account/order number. Upon the said request, one will receive information on forthcoming experiments to be conducted within seven (7) calendar days from the request date and information on the experiments being conducted at the time of request.

4. Requirements to the Advertisements

4.1. The Advertisements shall meet the current legislative norms and requirements of the Russian Federation, Ukraine, the Republic of Kazakhstan, Turkey (if the Advertisements are placed at the Advertising Spaces avia.yandex.ua (Ukraine), avia.yandex.kz (Republic of Kazakhstan), bilet.yandex.com.tr (Turkey)) as well as the “General Terms and Conditions. Advertising Requirements” publicly available in the Internet at: https://yandex.ru/legal/general_adv_rules/ and “Regulations for Placing Advertisements on Yandex. Advertising Requirements” publicly available in the Internet at: https://yandex.ru/legal/adv_rules/.

4.2. The Advertisements provided by the Customer shall correspond to the Customer’s real current offers of hotel accommodation at the time of offering and to the content of the Customer’s linked website page.

4.3. The Customer undertakes to control the compliance of the hotel accommodation cost in the period selected by the User, specified on the Service, with the actual hotel accommodation cost when choosing to pay on-line by bank card, including all duties, taxes, fees, etc., amounts to be paid by the User, including the cost of additional services (if the final hotel accommodation cost includes the cost of such additional services), i.e. the cost debited from the User’s bank card, when paying for hotel accommodation on the Customer’s linked website.

4.4. For placement of the Advertisements at the Advertising Spaces specified in subcl. 2.1 hereof the Customer undertakes to provide to Yandex (if applicable) the final hotel accommodation cost when choosing to pay on-line by bank card in the currency defined depending on the Geotargeting according to the Agreement. In this case the Customer also undertakes to specify the final hotel accommodation cost in the corresponding currency on its linked website.

4.5. For placement of the Advertisements at the Advertising Spaces specified in subcl. 2.2 hereof the Customer undertakes to provide to Yandex (if applicable) the final hotel accommodation cost when choosing to pay on-line by bank card in Russian roubles. In this case the Customer also undertakes to specify the final hotel accommodation cost in Russian roubles on its linked website.

4.6. For placement of the Advertisements at the Advertising Spaces specified in subcl. 2.3 hereof the Customer undertakes to provide to Yandex (if applicable) the final hotel accommodation cost when choosing to pay on-line by bank card according to the following rules:

4.6.1. for placement of the Advertisements at the Advertising Space avia.yandex.ru – in Russian roubles. In this case the Customer also undertakes to specify the final hotel accommodation cost in Russian roubles on its linked website;

4.6.2. for placement of the Advertisements at the Advertising Spaces avia.yandex.ua (Ukraine), avia.yandex.kz (the Republic of Kazakhstan), bilet.yandex.com.tr (Turkey) – in the national currency of the corresponding state. In this case the Customer also undertakes to specify the final hotel accommodation cost in the national currency of the corresponding state on its linked website;

4.6.3. for placement of the Advertisements at the Advertising Space flights.yandex.com – in euro. In this case the Customer also undertakes to specify the final hotel accommodation cost in euro on its linked website.

4.7. Yandex reserves the right to reject any Advertisements provided by the Customer and suspend placement of the Advertisements, if their placement and/or content and/or form contradict the above requirements, including the requirements of subcl. 4.1 – 4.6 hereof, or are not in line with Yandex’s advertising policy and other requirements. The Customer may, for the purposes of the Agreement, replace the rejected Advertisements by the proper ones or adjust the Advertisements to the said requirements and remedy any other violations that caused the suspension of placement of the Advertisements pursuant to this clause.

5. Additional Conditions

The Advertisements may not be impressed on Yandex Services pages optimized for mobile devices.
