Terms of use of the service Yandex.Translate

1. General provisions

1.1. Yandex (as referred in User Agreement for Yandex Services https://yandex.ru/legal/rules) offers the Internet user (hereinafter referred to as the User) to use the Yandex.Translate service, available at: http://translate.yandex.ru (hereinafter referred to as the "Service").

1.2. These Terms and Conditions are an addendum to the Yandex Services User Agreement regarding the use of the Service. In all matters not provided for in these Terms, the relationship between Yandex and the User in connection with the use of the Service is governed by the Yandex Services User Agreement (https://yandex.ru/legal/rules), as well as Privacy Policy (https://yandex.ru/legal/confidential).

1.3. By starting to use the Service/its individual functions, the User is deemed to have accepted these Terms and Conditions, as well as the terms of all the above documents, in full, without any reservations or exceptions. If the User does not agree with any of the provisions of these documents, the User is not entitled to use the Service.

1.4. These Terms may be changed by Yandex without any special notice, and the new version of the Terms takes effect from the moment it is posted on the Internet at the address specified in this paragraph, unless otherwise provided by the new version of the Terms. The current version of the Terms is always available on the page at: https://yandex.ru/legal/translate_termsofuse.

1.5. If Yandex has made any changes to these Terms, in accordance with the procedure provided for in clause 1.4. of these Terms, with which the User does not agree, he is obliged to stop using the Service.

1.6. The Service offers the User the opportunity to access the automated translation service for User texts and web pages for free at the User's request. All currently existing functions of the Service, as well as any development and/or addition of new ones, are subject to these Terms.

2. Using the Service. Individual Service Functions

2.1. The Service provides the User with the possibility of automatic translation from one language to another of texts entered by the User, as well as web pages, the address (URL) of which is specified by the User. The functionality of the service may vary depending on the selected language, as well as the User's region.

2.2. Automated translation of texts and web pages is performed using Yandex's own technologies.

2.3. The Service is provided to the User for personal, non-commercial use.

2.4. The Service provides the User with a functional opportunity to independently add a translation option, edit the translation, and report an error (hereinafter referred to as User Data). The User agrees that the User's Data may be available to all other Users, both directly in the Service and on other Yandex resources, as well as in Yandex advertising or marketing materials, without specifying the User (his name and/or login) who added the User's Data. The User independently and fully bears the risks for compliance with the legislation, the content, completeness, correctness and reliability of the User's Data. Yandex reserves the right not to publish User Data without notice and at its discretion. Yandex does not guarantee the safety of User Data in any volume and/or for any period of time, including in the event of changes to the Service. Yandex reserves the right to use User Data for commercial purposes, as well as to transfer the rights specified in this clause to third parties.

2.5. Through the Service, the User can access certain functions that work using artificial intelligence technologies, including:

functionality of the text editor by clicking the "Improve in the editor" button;
functionality for processing User requests related to text translation (explaining grammar, providing recommendations on translation style, etc.), providing information on requests.

Yandex does not guarantee the operation of these functions and reserves the right to set limits and restrictions on their use.

The provision of functions performed using artificial intelligence technologies is governed by the Terms of Use of Yandex GPT (https://yandex.ru/legal/yagpt_termsofuse).

The answers that are generated or summarized using artificial intelligence technologies are not an expression of anyone's opinion, position of Yandex, or statement of facts and cannot under any circumstances be regarded as guidance or advice when making decisions or performing any actions. Yandex is not responsible for the quality, completeness, accuracy, or correctness of the information received, nor does it guarantee the smooth operation of the functionality. The user undertakes to independently verify the correctness of the edited text, as well as to assess the risks associated with the use and dissemination of the information received.

2.6. The use of the Service by a minor is permitted with the knowledge and consent of his legal representative and under his supervision after the legal representative has familiarized himself with these Terms and Conditions and fully accepted their provisions on his behalf. Yandex does not guarantee that the Service does not contain information that does not correspond to the age category of a minor.

3. Limitation of liability

3.1. The Service is provided "as is". Yandex does not guarantee that the Service meets the User's goals and expectations, or that the Service as a whole and its individual components or functions will work smoothly and error-free.

3.2. Yandex has the right to make any changes to the structure and algorithms of the Service and its functions, suspend the functionality of the Service or the functionality of its functions, modify or terminate the functions of the Service without prior notice to the User and without the latter's consent to this.

3.3. Yandex is not responsible for any direct or indirect consequences of any use or inability to use the Service, damage caused to the User or third parties as a result of the use, non-use or inability to use the Service or its individual functions, including due to possible errors or failures in the Service.

3.4. Yandex reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to restrict the User's access to the Service (or to certain functions of the Service, if technically possible) using his account, or to completely block the User's account in case of repeated violation of these Terms, or to apply other measures to the User in order to comply with legal requirements or rights and legitimate interests third parties.

4. Final provisions

4.1. These Terms and Conditions and the relationship between Yandex and the User arising in connection with the use of the Service are subject to the law of the Russian Federation.

4.2. All questions and complaints related to the use or inability to use the Service should be sent through the feedback form provided in the Service.
