What's it like to be a night bus driver?

спрашивает
Craig Liffen
Writer, journalist, co-author of Faster Than Lightning with Usain Bolt, How Not...  · 14 февраля 2017
“There are less people getting on the bus at night than during the day, and less traffic generally, which is great for me. If you’re happy with peace and quiet then it’s the job for you. From Sunday through to Thursday it’s a calm job. At some points during the night on those days, the... Читать далее

I will go to UCL this September, could you please give some information about renting an ensuite in London?

BA Politics & East European Studies at UCL  · 7 апреля 2017

They offer a variety of options when it comes to sharing facilities with other people, and you will be... Читать далее

спрашивает

I would say that it is now, in the last four to five years. Before then, it didn’t quite have the depth and breadth of a city like New York, but now you can get great Korean and pizza and burgers, and all the high-end stuff too, which New York has always done brilliantly. I’d say that... Читать далее

What decade did Jack the Ripper start his killings?

спрашивает
Yvonne Neville
Moscow-based journalist. Master of Science in Global Politics, LSE.  · 21 апреля 2017
Jack the Ripper started his killings in the late 19th century in the slums of East London and most of his victims were prostitutes. I now live in the building where he killed his last victim (the building is now a dorm for LSE students). Tour guides stop right below my window to tell... Читать далее

Was Dickens writing about a real London?

спрашивает
Andrew Emery

Author of 'Dickens and Popular Entertainment' and the recent ‘Simply Dickens’...  · 1 декабря 2016
I think the answer to that is to ask what kind of novelist he is. And I think, to be anachronistic, Dickens writes magical realism. That is to say his fiction is very firmly rooted in the social and psychological and political situations in 19th century England, but he's filtering that... Читать далее

What happened in London's Parsons Green underground station?

спрашивает
Olga Zeveleva
Parsons Green House, London  · 15 сентября 2017
We actually had a massive police incident two weeks ago (a burglar evading the police, big roped off area, lots of activity). So it's pretty much business as usual. For the most part people are just standing about on the Green. I think unless you were on the actual tube it's hard to... Читать далее

What does the re-opening of Fabric mean for the fight for London's nightlife?

спрашивает
Cameron Heal
Editor at DJ Magazine  · 2 февраля 2017
To answer this question, we should understand that Fabric represents a generation of underground music since it was opened in 1999 and is a cultural destination for young people around the world. The club played a crucial role in helping to nurture emerging dance music styles such as... Читать далее
