Custom reports

Administrator and assistant users can edit the available reports or create custom ones.

Note

To allow an assistant to create and edit reports, enable the Access to Report Builder option in their account settings and click Change.

  1. Go to Reports from the main menu and click + New.

  2. Open the calendar in the upper-right corner of the screen. Set a time period and click Apply.

  3. Configure filters, groups, and metrics.

    Filters

Define the data range to build the report for. You can filter by specific campaigns, sites, placements, and other parameters.

To add a filter, click + Filter, select the necessary one from the list, and specify a value (for example, the placement ID). To quickly find a filter, use subcategories or start typing the parameter name in the search bar.

    Groups

Determine the parameters that the report data is grouped by.

To add a group parameter, click + Groups and select the parameter from the list. For example, to find out how much revenue each site section brings, add a Section name group.

    Note

We recommend that you don't add too many group parameters, because the system might not be able to build the chart.

    Metrics

Statistical metrics that you want to check for the selected data range.

To add a metric click + Metrics and select the necessary one from the list. To learn more about metrics, see Metrics in reports.

    Note

Metrics for external monetizers are calculated based on Adfox statistics. Because of this, statistics in monetizer reports may differ.

  1. Go to the Reports tab in the main menu and select an available report from the list.

Examples of custom reports

Traffic analysis by campaign

To build a report, select the Campaign name dimension and the Total ad requests, Revenue metrics.

Evaluate how requests are distributed among campaigns and how much revenue each of them brings. Based on this data, you can evaluate how effective each campaign is. For example, if fewer requests generate more revenue, this is a profitable campaign.

Site performance analysis

You can use the report data to identify traffic losses at each impression stage. To build a report, select the Site name dimension and the following metrics:

  • Total ad requests
  • Banner ad responses
  • Impressions
  • Renders
  • Rejections
  • Total ad requests without rejections
  • Unfilled ad responses

The number of banner impressions and responses may vary based on the campaign's viewability settings. If there are a lot of unfilled ad responses, change your campaign settings: more restrictions cause fewer impressions.

Viewing reports

The report is available as a chart and a table.

To enlarge the viewing area, collapse the report list on the left. To do this, click the icon above the report list.

The chart can be a line, column, or pie chart. You can switch the chart type using the buttons above the chart.

To view the exact value of an indicator, hover over it. A box with the indicator name and value appears on the chart.

Line chart and bar chart

Use line charts to track how your metrics have changed over time (for example, in reports by day or time of day). A column chart is useful if you want to compare metrics in different dimensions (for example, in a banner report).

Dimensions are on the horizontal axis of the chart. To remove a dimension from the chart, hide it in the dimension list on the right.

The metrics values are on the vertical axis. By default, only one metric is displayed on the chart when it's built. You can enable or disable the display of metrics in the list above the chart.

If your chart shows multiple metrics, we recommend enabling the legend by clicking the icon in the upper-right corner of the chart.

Pie chart

The pie chart shows the percentage ratio of dimensions. Consider this chart type when building reports by device type or geography.

You can sort the data in the table using the arrow icon in the column name:

  • Parameters with a numeric value may be sorted in descending or ascending order.
  • Parameters with a text value may be sorted alphabetically.

If the dimensions are related hierarchically, you can display the table taking this hierarchy into account. To do this, click above the table. The lower-level dimensions are nested in the higher-level ones.

For example, an available geography report uses several dimensions: from city (the lowest level of the hierarchy) to continent (the highest level). In a regular (line) table, metrics are displayed only for the lowest-level dimension, that is, by city. Using a table with a hierarchical structure, you can display metrics for each level in the hierarchy (for example, region, district, or country).

Saving reports

You can use several options for saving your report:

  • : Save the report to your computer in XLSX or CSV format.

  • : Copy the report link and share it with others (only authorized Adfox users can view the report).

  • Save: Save the report to the Saved tab in the left menu.

    Alert

This feature is only available for administrator and assistant roles.

Widgets

You can create widgets based on reports on the Dashboard tab. A widgets contains statistics for a short period of time, such as a day, the last three days, or a week. You can flexibly manage data: change views or change the set of metrics to be shown on the chart without refreshing the page. To learn more about widgets, see Dashboard.
