Yandex Browser background
You can use the following media as a background:
- Photos from the Background gallery on your computer or from another site
- Videos or dynamic photo collections from the Background gallery.
- Open a new tab.
- In the lower-right corner of the page, click Change background or .Tip. To select a random background, in the lower-right corner of the page, click Change background .
- Select a photo or video from an album.
- Click Use this background.
- For one album. Select the album in the Background gallery and click Alternate these backgrounds.
- For all albums. In the Background gallery, click Alternate next to All backgrounds.
- Open a new tab.
- In the lower-right corner of the page, click.
- Select an image:
- Click Open.
- Open a new tab.
- In the lower-right corner of the page, click All settings.
- On the background preview, click .
- Tap.
- Open Tools.
- Under Power saving mode, deselect Disable background videos when battery is low.
- Click.
- Under Home screen, deselect Use high-resolution animated background.
Animated backgrounds look great, but they can drain your battery. To avoid this, pause the animation:
When your battery is low, animation turns off automatically. If you want to continue playing animation regardless of how low your battery is:
Animations play back in high resolution by default. If it causes the Yandex Browser beta version to work slower, set the standard animation quality:
Solving problems
- Open a new tab.
- In the lower-right corner of the page, click All settings.
- On the background preview, click .
- Click.
- Open Video Adapters: a list of video cards will appear.
- Right-click the name of your video card.
- In the context menu, select Update drivers.
- Click Ctrl+Shift+Q.and turn off all the extensions. Restart Yandex Browser using the keyboard shortcut
- Clear your cache so that the browser doesn't load a copy of the page that was saved earlier.
- If this solves your problem, go through your extensions and turn them back on until you find the one that causes the problem. Restart Yandex Browser every time.
- Disable this extension. You may want to let the developers know about the problem.
- Open the file search box in Windows versions 7, 8, and 10.
Copy and paste it into the file search box:

Copied to clipboard- Press Enter.
- Open a new tab.
- In the lower-right corner, click All settings.
- Disable the Change the background daily option.
Update the driver for each video card that is installed on your computer:

If the problem persists, contact support via the form. Describe the situation in detail, and attach a screenshot if possible.
Delete the File System folder and check whether the problem persists. The folder is located in the Yandex Browser profile folder:
You can't completely disable or remove a Yandex Browser background. Try setting a single-color background instead of an image. Open the “Colors” album in the browser's Background gallery, select the color you like, and click Use this background.
