Additional search options
The Yandex Browser beta version offers suggestions to help you with your search query. If you select any word or phrase on a website page, Yandex Browser shows an explanation (quick answer) for it right in the context menu.
Search suggestions
Search suggestions are popular searches that start with the same characters as your query.
The suggestions list appears beneath the search bar and changes as you enter new letters in the search bar. When you see a suggestion that matches your query, you can select it by using the mouse or the Up or Down keys. To go to the search results, press Enter.
You can make your query more specific by adding text to the selected suggestion.
Yandex Browser provides answers to common questions in the search suggestion list. For example, you can find out the depth of Lake Baikal or without going to the search results. You can also enter a phone number that you got a call from into the SmartBox. If this number has been used for advertising purposes and there has been enough online feedback about this number, you will see a warning in the suggestions.
If you make a typo in the site address, Yandex Browser may offer corrections. To do this:
- Click
→ Settings → General settings. - Under Search, deselect Offer corrections for typos in site addresses.
If you don't want to see suggestions in Yandex Browser, disable them:
- Click → Settings → General settings.
- Under Search, deselect Show suggestions when entering addresses and queries.
Search page
To search a page, use one of the following methods:
- Press Ctrl + F (in Windows and Linux).
- Click → Advanced → Search.
Usually, page search in Yandex Browser searches for all grammatical forms of a given word. For example, if you enter "teach" into the search bar, Yandex Browser will also show words such as “teaching”, “teacher”, and so on.
If you want to find specific grammar forms of a word without any related forms, select the Exact match option in the search window.

Image search
You can search for images similar to yours or those found on the internet. Search is based on computer vision algorithms. The search results will show exact copies of your image and similar images. For example, similar images would be photos of kittens of the same breed.
To find images similar to:
- In the context menu

Right-click on the image and select Search for this image on Yandex.
- Via the toolbar

Hover your mouse cursor over the image and click
on the panel that appears.
- In Yandex Browser

- Open a new tab.
- In the SmartBox on the right, click.
- Select an image on your computer.
- In Windows Explorer

Right-click the image and select Image search.
The search result will open in Yandex Images.
