Comfortable webpage reading

To make reading pages on your smartphone easier, turn on Reader mode, use word wrapping, and change the page zoom.

  1. Reader mode
  2. Jump to the top of the page
  3. Text wrap (auto-fit)
  4. Text zoom
  5. Full website version

Reader mode

Reader mode lets you view pages with only the text and accompanying images or videos. Other page elements (like banners, interactive elements, and social media buttons) are hidden.

Switch to Reader mode
Restriction. If Reader mode is not shown in the menu and you don't see the icon in the SmartBox, you can't turn on Reader mode for this page.

Tap in the SmartBox.

Exit Reader mode

Tap in the SmartBox.

Jump to the top of the page

To instantly go back to the top of the page, tap in the lower-right corner. This button appears on the screen when you've read all the way to the end. You can also make it appear by scrolling the post down and then up.

If you don't want to see the button to jump to the top of the page:

  1. Tap in the browser (if you don't see this button, press the menu button on your smartphone).
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Go to More settings and turn off "Back to top" arrow.

Text wrap (auto-fit)

If you increase the page zoom on a website, the text may go off the screen. Turn on the Auto-fit option so you won't have to scroll horizontally in order to read a sentence.

Turn on auto-fit
  1. Tap in the browser (if you don't see this button, press the menu button on your smartphone).
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Go to Text zoom and auto-fit and turn on Auto-fit text to screen.

Text zoom

You can change the zoom on pages in the browser. To do this:

  1. Tap in the browser (if you don't see this button, press the menu button on your smartphone).
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Go to Text zoom and auto-fit and use the slider to choose the zoom level.
Note. Some sites do not allow browsers to change the text zoom. If you still want to change the zoom, go to Text zoom and auto-fit and turn on Ignore site requests to forbid font zoom.

Full website version

Mobile versions of sites are displayed in the browser by default. To open the full version:

  1. Tap in the browser (if you don't see this button, press the menu button on your smartphone).
  2. Tap Desktop version.

To go back to the mobile version of the site, tap Mobile version.

If you want Yandex Browser for Mobile to always open full versions of websites:

  1. Tap in the browser (if you don't see this button, press the menu button on your smartphone).
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Under Advanced, tap Site capabilities.
  4. Turn on Always open desktop versions of all websites.
