Yandex Browser for Mobile prevents websites from tracking what you do online. It also doesn't allow sites to detect the battery charge on your smartphone.
“Do not track”
For example, web analytics services and ad networks may collect information about your online activity and use it to show you targeted ads or collect statistics. In Yandex Browser, you can prevent them from doing this.
By default, theDo Not Track option is turned off in Yandex Browser.
To prevent sites from collecting information:
- Tap in the browser (if you don't see the icon, press the menu button on your smartphone).
- Tap Settings.
- Under Advanced, tap Site capabilities.
- Turn on Do Not Track.
Restriction. Not all websites honor the Do Not Track request. Even if you turn on Do Not Track, many websites will continue to collect and use your browsing data.
Battery level tracking
Why battery level tracking is dangerous
- It can be used to identify you even if you change your IP address and other public data.
- Moreover, online stores and services may raise prices on urgent items and offers when your battery is almost empty because you don't have time to look for an alternative.
By default, Yandex Browser doesn't allow programs to see your smartphone battery level.
If you want to allow websites to track your battery level:
- Tap in the browser (if you don't see the icon, press the menu button on your smartphone).
- Tap Settings.
- Under Advanced, tap Site capabilities.
- Disable Hide battery charge level from sites.
