Text recognition

The smart camera in the mobile Yandex Browser can recognize text. Copy it, share it on social media, or send a request to Yandex.

Note. Allow Yandex Browser to access your camera and files in the device settings.

Open Yandex Browser.
Tap the icon in the SmartBox on the main screen.
Switch to Text mode.
Point the camera at the text. The camera will recognize it and highlight it in white.
Select the text:
- To select part of the text, tap the first word and move the slider to the right.
- To select the entire text, take a photo or select an image from the photo gallery (in the lower-right corner, tap the round icon with a thumbnail of the last photo). If you need to leave part of the text out, use the slider.
Choose an action:
- Share: Share the text on social media.
- Copy: Copy the text to the clipboard.
- Search: Search for the text in Yandex.
