Yandex Maps in offline mode
In offline mode, you can search for places and plot routes without an internet connection (for example, if you're at an underground parking lot or outside the city).
To access the internet in offline mode, locate a Wi-Fi hotspot on the map.
Note
In offline mode, only the schematic map view is available. You can plot a route by car, public transport, bike, scooter, or on foot.
To use the app in offline mode, download the map.
If you want to plot a route that passes through several regions, download the maps of all regions.
How it works
Offline routes

Offline mode turns on automatically if your device has no internet connection. Manually disable Wi‑Fi and mobile data to enter offline mode. The route will be built on the downloaded map without traffic, cameras, and road events, because the app receives this data from the internet. Once you start moving, you will see Route built offline above the route info panel.

Tap Plan download and the map will be downloaded automatically when your internet connection is restored.

When you plot a route via public transport, the app will warn you that the schedule may change.
I lost my internet connection en route
- If you lost your internet connection en route, navigation along the route will continue. Offline mode will turn on if you change your route. The app will plot a new route and guide you using the downloaded map. When your connection is restored, offline mode will turn off and the route will be rebuilt, taking into account the traffic conditions.
Download the map

Tap (profile picture). If you aren't logged in, tap .

Tap Offline maps.

Enter the name of the country, city, or region. You can also select it from suggestions.
Note
In some countries, you can't download the map in its entirety — only individual regions and cities are available.

. If you don't have enough space on your device, delete apps, photos, or videos that you don't need.
To cancel the map download, tap the map name and confirm cancellation.
You can configure map updates so you always have up-to-date information.
Update the map

Tap Offline maps → .

Select one of the options:
- Auto update: Maps will update when you're connected to the internet.
- Download via Wi-Fi only: Maps will update only when you're connected to Wi-Fi. This helps to reduce mobile data usage.
Delete a map
To delete all downloaded maps:
- Tap (profile picture). If you aren't logged in, tap .
- Tap Offline maps.
- Tap → Delete downloaded maps.
To delete individual downloaded maps:
- Tap (profile picture). If you aren't logged in, tap .
- Tap Offline maps.
- Tap → Delete next to the map.

Why are my offline and online routes different?
When connected to the internet, Yandex Maps assesses the traffic situation and plots the optimal route. This isn't possible without internet, so the routes may differ.
