  7. We do not accept banner ads with large, flashing graphics, text elements and/or background, or banner ads with fast-moving animation that distract the user from interacting with the site (viewing the content of a page or entering a search query). Animation is considered to be flashing if it repeatedly changes color (including hue, saturation or brightness) by more than 40%, more than once every two seconds. Animation is considered fast-moving if it repeatedly changes the position of its elements by more than 100% of their size or by more than 50% of the banner size, once every second.

  8. There are special requirements for Flash Banners with Video and Audio:

    • Banners in Flash-format are accepted (not above version 10).

    • Users should only be directed to the site once they have clicked on the flash banner (onRelease event).

    • The flash banner cannot exchange information with other websites, in particular, the following scripts are not permitted:
      • «loadMovie», «loadMovieNum» and class «MovieClipLoader»

      • «loadVariables», «loadVariablesNum» and class «LoadVars»

      • «XML.load», «XML.send» and «XML.sendAndLoad»

      • «XMLSocket»

    • We do not accept advertising materials (banners) with the context menus disabled, making it impossible for users to stop the animation.

    • The banner should not be confusing (obfuscated).

    • The Flash banner should comply with personal privacy regulations, in particular:
      • «SharedObject» and «LocalConnection» cannot be used.

      • Access to the microphone or webcam is forbidden.

      • Access to the clipboard is forbidden («System.setClipboard»).

      • SWF-files must not contain non-standard SWF-tags used to hide code.

    • Banners should not produce considerable load on a user’s computer when displayed on the webpage:

      • For testing purpose, a special page is loaded, which only contains this banner. No other programs are running at that time.
      • The CPU load level is estimated using the Task Manager.

      • During such testing, the banner should not take up more than 50% of the CPU resources based on information in the Performance tab of Task Manager (Update Speed is set on High for the test).

      • If 50% of CPU resources are used for a considerable amount of time (fractions of a second) or the CPU load peaks over 70%, the banner is considered to take up too much of the computer’s resources.
      • RAM usage is not optimized, and no additional utilities or programs are loaded on start-up. After logging in (without any applications running) the amount of memory used by system processes is around 62—63 Mb according to the Task Manager.
    • Video clips can be embedded into a Flash banner:

      • The video should be in .FLV format.

      • The maximum file size is 1MB.

      • The video should be displayed within the Flash banner (no additional windows can be opened).

      • The video must be initiated by the user. In addition, the user must be able to stop or restart the video sequence at any point. This functionality must be added by the advertiser when creating the banner.

      • The user must be informed of the file size beforehand (for example, a button within the banner reading “Show video: 250KB”).

    • Audio clips can be embedded into a Flash banner:

      • The audio file should be in .MP3 format (with a sample frequency of 44.1KHz (i.e. 22.05, 11.025), with a bitrate of no more than 256 Kb/s).

      • The maximum file size is 100KB.

      • The audio file should be played within the Flash banner (no additional windows can be opened).

      • The audio clip must be initiated by the user. In addition, the user must be able to stop or restart the audio clip at any point. This functionality must be added by the advertiser when creating the banner.
      • The user must be informed of the file size beforehand (for example, a button within the banner reading “Play audio: 59KB”).
