Configuring access to Yandex Tracker

Whether a specific user can create or edit issues in Yandex Tracker depends on their access rights.

Users with full access can enjoy all Yandex Tracker features, but you can restrict access to specific issue queues, components, dashboards, and filters. For more information, see Roles and access rights in Tracker.

Users with Read access can't create, modify, or delete objects.

Administrators of Yandex Tracker and Yandex 360 for Business organizations can manage access rights for specific users and user groups, namely:

Managing access for users and groups

If your Yandex 360 for Business organization has the pricing plan with Yandex Tracker enabled, all employees get full access to the service by default after they're added to your organization.

In this case, the Yandex Tracker administrator can manage access for specific users or user groups within the Yandex 360 for Business organization. For example, you can grant Read access to those users who don't need to create or edit issues.

For more information about managing groups, see Yandex 360 for Business Help.

  1. Open Tracker and log in to the admin account: see Logging in to Tracker.

  2. In the left panel, click AdministrationUsers.

  3. For users who require issue managing permissions, select Full or Read in the Access to Yandex Tracker column.

  1. Open Tracker and log in to the admin account: see Logging in to Tracker.

  2. In the left panel, click AdministrationGroups.

  3. Select Full or Read for each group in the Access to Yandex Tracker column.

A user's permissions in Yandex Tracker are determined by the highest access level assigned to them either directly or through the group they belong to.

For example, if a user with Read access joins a group with Full access, the user's access level will change to Full.

Managing Yandex Tracker access through the organization account

If your Yandex 360 for Business organization has Tracker enabled for employees or departments, that will give them full access to the service. Any users and department employees with no Tracker enabled, can access it in Read mode.

In this case, you can change user permissions through the Yandex 360 for Business organization account. You can't manage access in the Yandex Tracker interface.

Readmode

Read access is the default setting for organization employees who do not have access to Tracker. If an administrator has TrackerRead access in , they can still change the access settings for their own account.

In Read mode, users cannot perform actions related to creating, updating, and deleting objects, e.g.:

  • Create issues using the Tracker interface.

  • Change parameters, statuses, and resolutions in issues.

  • Comment on issues.

  • Subscribe to changes in issues.

However, you can still perform all actions related to viewing Tracker issues:

Configuring visibility for user groups

If you have multiple user groups in your Yandex 360 for Business organization that should work separately, you can define visibility settings for each group.

A user with restricted viewing access to a specific group won't be able to add members of that group to issue fields, summon them in comments, or view details of group members already added to the issue (for example, as an assignee).

Yandex Tracker administrators can see the data of all Yandex Tracker users, regardless of which groups they belong to.

To set up visibility for user groups:

  1. Open Tracker and log in to the admin account: see Logging in to Tracker.
  2. In the left panel, click AdministrationGroups.
  3. Select a value for each group in the Participant visibility column.

For example, you want to invite the employees of a contractor organization to Tracker for collaboration. To keep their usernames and emails private from your internal staff,

go to your organization account and add the contractors to a single group. After that, set visibility for this group in Yandex Tracker to Private. Organize the rest of your organization's employees into one or more groups with visibility set to With restrictions so they can't see the contractors' details.

You can add the members of your HR team to a group with the Without restrictions visibility so they can see the details of all Yandex Tracker users, including those who are members of private groups.

For more information about managing groups, see Yandex 360 for Business Help.

Authorizing an employee to invite new users

Only users with administrator rights in Yandex 360 for Business can invite employees to your organization. To learn more, see Yandex 360 for Business Help.
