When getting started with an issue change it to a new status (usually it is the "In progress" status). The status shows what state the issue is in and helps other Tracker users track its progress. The current status is shown on the right panel.
When working on the issue, make sure to timely change the issue status so that's your colleagues and you are aware of its execution stage.
The available statuses and transitions depend on the queue settings.
Your issue has the Open status. When you start working on it, change the status to In progress. When it's completed, change the status to Closed. If you need to revisit the issue later, you can change its status back to Open.
Working on an issue
Tracker helps you keep track of an issue's progress and keep in touch with colleagues. When working on your issues, you can:
- Create an issue checklist.
Enumerate the steps needed to resolve the issue and tick off their execution. - Edit issue details.
If the issue description has changed, you can edit it. - Comment on issues.
Add comments to issues, make notes, and invite colleagues to comment. - Keep a record of time spent.
Register the time spent on the issue.
Closing an issue
When you finish working on an issue, change it to the final status (usually Closed) and select a resolution (why you closed the issue). The available resolutions depend on the queue settings.
It was decided to cancel the issue you are working on. To register this in Tracker, change the issue's status to Closed and select the Canceled resolution.
