Statistics on search queries from the browsers that restrict third-party cookies

Yandex Webmaster collects and analyzes statistics on search queries that brought visitors to your site from search results. This data can be found, for example, in the Search queries and Search engines reports.

In some cases, statistics on search queries may be incomplete. Specifically, some information about search queries may be missing if visitors went to your site from search results in the browsers that restrict third-party cookies, such as Safari or Mozilla Firefox.

To analyze search queries more accurately while complying with the privacy requirements, Yandex adds a special ysclid parameter to the link when a user opens the site from Yandex search results.

Example: https://example.com/?ysclid=ksil7dwgjm.

This parameter is added to a sample of page URLs in search results in the browsers that don't support third-party cookies.

The ysclid parameter isn't displayed in the reports of Yandex Metrica and Yandex Webmaster, but may show up when you use third-party tools, such as SEO tools. You may notice the appearance of search query data in Yandex Metrica reports.

If the ysclid parameter is displayed in the links in the web analytics systems you use, add it to the list of exceptions.
