What is the site quality index (SQI)?
The site quality index indicates how useful your site is for users according to Yandex.
The quality index is based on the size of the site's audience, the degree of user satisfaction with the site, the level of trust that users and Yandex place in this site, and other criteria. The calculation uses data received from Yandex services.
The SQIs for the main mirror, secondary mirrors, and subdomains are calculated separately and may differ.
How the SQI is calculated for mirrors
- If the mirrors have the same domain names, the SQI for the secondary mirror will be same as for the main mirror.
- If the mirrors have different domain names, the SQI may also differ.
X is regularly recalculated. To receive messages about this, set up notifications.
We suggest that you:
- Check if the SQI is available for your site.
- Compare your site's SQI with the SQIs of other sites on the Site quality → Quality indicators page. Indicators are displayed on the graph — you can monitor the SQI changes.
- Tell users about your site's SQI.
How SQI is calculated
- All resources are evaluated using the same algorithm for the site quality index.
- Yandex reserves the right to change the algorithm for calculating the quality index at any
time without additional notification, reset the value, and cancel the indicator in one of the
following cases:- Violations are found on the site.
- If there were attempts to influence the site's SQI.
Yandex does not comment on the changes in this indicator and provides no guarantees or dates for its recovery.
Questions and answers
Why did SQI drop?
-
The SQI value is recalculated regularly taking into account many factors. During the time between recalculations, site-related factors may change. Therefore, we recommend improving the site, filling it with useful content, etc. Over time, SQI may increase.
