Session impressions

To implement the synchronous display of banners from the same campaign on different placements of the same site page, you can use the Session type: on page feature.

Two settings are important for the session to work correctly:

  • The campaign has an enabled session.
  • The placement code type is set to on page session.

Alert

Session impressions are available only for Guarantee campaigns.

Session impressions on one page

  1. When creating or editing a campaign, select the <on page> session type. You don't need to set the session duration.

  2. Go to the Sites tab in the main menu and select the placements where you want to run session campaigns.

  3. In the placement parameters, specify the on page session code type.

On the on page session placement type, both regular and session campaigns can be displayed.

On the regular placement type, only regular campaigns can be displayed.

Features of campaign impressions on session placements

When there are two or more placements of the on page session type on the page

  • If a session campaign is selected for display for the first session code that loads on the page, banners from the same campaign or default ones can be displayed for all other session codes on the page.

  • If a regular (non-session) campaign or default is selected for display for the first session code that loads on the page, a regular (non-session) campaign or default is selected for display for all other session codes on the page.

How to set up correct delivery settings for a session campaign

If you need to set up delivery settings for a session campaign or frequency targeting, keep in mind that there are multiple banners in the campaign that are displayed simultaneously, and these impressions are summed up at the campaign level.

To set up campaign restrictions, use the following formula:

a*N

Where a is the number of impressions of the site page and N is the number of banners in the session campaign.

So if there are 3 banners (N) in the campaign, and the entire campaign needs 5 impressions (a): Multiply 3 × 5 and put 15 in the number of impressions box. This means that each banner will be displayed 5 times.
