Setting up on UPVEL routers

Yandex DNS is built into most UPVEL routers. It can be configured for individual devices or for all devices at once.

Update the router firmware before setting up Yandex DNS:

  1. Open the browser and enter 192.168.10.1 in the address bar.

  2. Enter your username and password.

    Note

    Default username and password: admin/admin

  3. Upgrade the firmware to the latest version. For the upgrade instructions, refer to the router's user manual. You can also find video instructions on the UPVEL's official YouTube channel.

Set up in the interface

If you couldn't find the section for enabling Yandex DNS in the router settings, specify the DNS addresses manually.

  1. Select the filtering mode for all devices:
    1. Go to the Yandex DNS → Yandex DNS section.

    2. Select the option Enable and set the desired Yandex DNS filtering mode for all devices.

    3. Click Apply changes.

  2. Assign custom modes for individual devices, for example, Family mode for your child's laptop:
    1. Go to the Yandex DNS → Devices section.

    2. In the DHCP clients table, find the MAC address of the desired device. Select it in the Select column.

    3. Click Add.

    4. Enter the device name and select the Yandex DNS filtering mode.

    5. Click Apply changes.
