Location

During installation, the Yandex Start app requests permission to access your location data. You can either allow or deny permission.

Information about your location is used for the following purposes:

  • Sites can show you information relevant for your area, such as weather, traffic, or a map.
  • The address bar can display accurate search suggestions (for example, about the weather).
  • Settings can show a list of search engines that are used in your area.

By default, your area is determined based on the location of your device.

Specify the area manually

  1. Go to  (profile picture) → App settings.

  2. Under General, tap Location.
  3. Disable the Auto detect option.
  4. Tap Select manually.
  5. Enter the name of your city.
