The "Nu, Pogodi!" series was created in 1968 by Vyacheslav Kotyonochkin who was being the director of the company "Souzmultfilm".
Arkadiy Hait, Alexandr Kurlyandskiy and Felix Kamov wrote the script of this cartoon movie. Gennady Sokolsky directed the pilot but Vyacheslav Kotyonochkin, Vladimir Tarasov (series 17-18) and Alexandr Kotyonochkin (19-20) directed the next series.
One of the main animators of this series was Svyatozar Rusakov. Viktor Likhachev and Vladimir Krunin were other animators.
The music was by Hungarian composer Tamash Deak who had written the main theme for "Water Ski" which had used as "Nu, pogodi!" main theme later.
The Wolf’s voice actor was Anatoly Papanov (‘till his death) and the Hare’s voice actress was Klara Rumyanova (‘till series 18).
There is a legend about Leonid Brezhnev who probably had seen "Tom and Jerry" (US cartoon series) and had said: "We need the same series in the Soviet Union", but it still is only the legend and we do not know the truth.
