The terror threat is considered severe currently, which means that while there is not a specific piece of intelligence on a specific act immediately, we do consider it to be high and likely that an attack may take place.
We have had several plots and actions thwarted recently and the security services have also prosecuted many based on evidence that they were planning on undertaking terrorist attacks in the UK.
That means we are in a situation where our intelligence services and counter terrorism police have managed to stop attempts that may or may not have resulted in some form of violent attack.
These have tended to be, in general, related to planned small-scale attacks and nothing quite as large as some of the others we have stopped in the past or indeed that have succeeded - such as plots against airlines, major buildings or the underground network.
