Configure permissions and notifications

Some permissions required for the Yandex Maps app to work properly are requested when you first launch the app, but you can also grant them at a later time.

Additionally, you can select which events you want to get notified of.

Permissions

The app requires the following permissions to work properly on your device:

  • Location: To automatically determine your location, based on which search suggestions are generated.
  • Notifications: To receive push notifications (pop-up messages) from Yandex Maps. For example, a notification may suggest that you leave a review about a place you recently visited.
  • IDFA (iOS device ID): To get more accurate recommendations in Yandex Maps.

After installing the app, grant the required permissions in the device settings. The path and menu element names may vary depending on your device.
