“Sites” report
This report contains information about the resources that users click-through to your site from.
To view the report, go to Reports → Sources → Sites.
An example of this report is available for the Yandex Metrica demo tag.
To identify this source, Yandex Metrica uses the referrer.
How to change or specify sources
If you want to use your own referrer, add the utm_referrer parameter to the link that you place on another site. Then the “Sites” report will display the parameter value as the traffic source.
To define a traffic source, add the following link to your UTM tagutm_medium=referral
.
Ways to use this report
Find out which sites link to your site
The report shows which websites users come to your site from.
See traffic sources for a specific page
To do this, select the segment with the URL of the specific page:
- Find the Sessions in which condition group and click
.
- Select the condition Behavior → Landing page.
- Specify the webpage URL.
Report structure and settings
In the report, the address of each referring site is shown in the form of levels. Up to four levels can be displayed, depending on the site structure. For example, https://example.com/1/2/3/page.html
is a page that contains the link to your site.
- External referrer level 1 – Site domain, for example
https://example.com
. - External referrer level 2 – For example,
https://example.com/1/
. - External referrer level 3 — For example,
https://example.com/1/2/
. - External referrer level 4 – For example,
https://example.com/1/2/3/
. - External referrer (External referrer level 5) – Full address of the referring page, for example
https://example.com/1/2/3/page.html
.
Each level is a link to the source website.
The report supports all settings available in Yandex Metrica.
