Native banner customization plugin

This plugin can only be used with Yandex Browser.

The native banner customization plugin is a tool to help you choose a native ad unit design without leaving your site.

While the plugin is running, all changes only apply to the unit in testing mode. To actually save those changes, you must copy the ad unit template from the plugin and add it to the native banner unit via the Yandex Advertising Network interface.

Installing the plugin

Download the plugin and unpack it.
Open the following page: browser://extensions/.
Select Developer Mode in the upper-right corner.
Click Load unpacked extension and select the plugin.

Once it is installed, make sure the PCE icon is displayed to the right of the address bar.

To open the plugin, do the following:

Find the upper-right corner of the Yandex Browser window and click → Advanced → More tools → Developer tools or use the Ctrl + Shift + I keyboard shortcut.
Go to the YAN Editor tab in the console that opens.

Plugin features

Open the desired page on your site in Yandex Browser and call the plugin. You will see the list of all Yandex Advertising Network ad units placed on the page.

If you want to quickly jump to an ad unit, go to Units on page and click Show to the right of its ID.

To update the ad unit list, click Update list above the list.

Choosing an ad unit design

Click Edit code to the right of the unit ID. The unit code will be displayed in the Editing unit # section.
Make changes to the ad unit's HTML or CSS code. The plugin's editor can highlight your code's syntax and check it for errors. Use the Minify and Beautify buttons to make your code shorter and format it.
Click Apply to the right of the section name. The ad unit hosted on your site will then be updated. To apply the changes in real time while you edit the code, enable the Auto-apply option.

The changes applied in the plugin are not saved in the ad unit settings. To actually save those changes, you must copy the ad unit template from the plugin and add it to the unit with a native banner via the Yandex Advertising Network interface: Configure the formats → Native banner → Edit code.

Viewing different ad designs inside an ad unit

The plugin lets users test their selected designs inside sample ads. To do this, click Update ads: the real ad displayed in the unit will be swapped for a sample ad.

Now you can manually set the content displayed in sample ads. To do this, click Edit data. This will open a window displaying various ad elements, such as the title, text body, age label, warning, and so on. All the elements of regular ads can be found on the General tab, while ad elements displayed in mobile apps can be found on the Mobile app ads tab. You can add new elements to your ad or update its contents. All the changes will be immediately displayed in the ad unit, helping you decide whether your design suits the selected ad elements or not.
