First up, the Yandex office. We’ll show you around so you can see how everything works and what life is like for Yandex employees.

You’ll sign all the necessaries to complete your registration and get all your questions answered by HR.

Our ServiceDesk team will tell you all you need to know to get started with your work devices. And if you have any issues, they’ll always be on hand to help out.

Your manager will give you a tour of the office and your department. If they’re super busy that day, you’ll instead be looked after by your Buddy—a Yandex mentor assigned to you to help you settle in.

Everything is provided. All offices have eateries where you can get delicious meals using your pass.

Your laptop is set up, you’ve got yourself a coffee—it’s time to start your first tasks. These will be set by your manager.

FAQ

You can come in slippers, shorts, or fancy dress—whatever you feel like. Providing you do actually wear something.

Your manager, Buddy, or someone from the team. If your team is out of town, our admin managers will show you around.

It’s flexible but also depends on the working hours of your team. Most of us clock off around 7pm, but it’s best to speak to your manager—especially if you’re an owl (or other type of bird).

Your employment record book (if in paper form) and your passport. If you’re starting work outside of Russia, we’ll let you know nearer the time.

We maintain an informal communication style throughout the company. The exception is the coffee ladies, who we address with polite formality.

You definitely won’t go hungry! Our coffee ladies keep the coffee points fully stocked with snacks throughout the day, and there are all kinds of eateries around the offices, where you can use the food allowance connected to your Yandex pass.

We’re against the exploitation of pigeons so we use Telegram as our main messenger, and hold online meetings via Zoom. We also use email, but mainly for company news or communication with external partners.
