Site management

In the Yandex Advertising Network, a site is a combination of ad placements for serving ads on a single resource, including any mirrors, mobile and desktop versions, AMPs, and Turbo pages.

Sites are used for content-based advertising. Content-based ads can either be linked to the context of the web page viewed by the user, or based on the user's interests (behavioral targeting). Ads are displayed as information that supplements the main content: as a separate ad unit or inside a widget with recommended articles.

Adding a site

To add a new site, go to Ads on websites → Sites and ad units and click Add site. Select a site domain from the list and enter your site name. Once saved, the site is assigned a unique Site ID and added to the list in one of the following statuses:

  • New: Used for sites that you add after registration.
  • Under moderation: Used for sites that have been submitted for moderation.
  • Testing: Used for sites that have passed moderation.

After a while, your site's status will automatically change to Active.

Alert

You can create and place ad units immediately after creating your site. However, you'll only receive remuneration for impressions if the site's status is Active.

You can add multiple sites per domain in the Yandex Advertising Network to flexibly manage ad settings. For instance, you can create two sites for the example.com domain. Delegate the management of the first site to an assistant to create and configure units for the news section. Manage the second site yourself to configure ads in other domain sections.

Note

Each site can host up to 200 active ad units. You should move unused ad units to the archive.

If you need to use more than 200 units per site, please contact our support team.

Setting up a site

To change a site's settings, click Edit in the line with the desired site or click View and go to Settings on the page that opens.

The following settings can be configured for the entire site (but not for specific ad units):

You can also specify your site's language. The language is selected for ad and unit elements, but it has no impact on the ad content. Ad impressions are selected for each user on an individual basis. The following languages are available: Russian (ru), Ukrainian (uk), English (en), Belarusian (by), Kazakh (kz), Turkish (tr), and Tatar (tt).

Yandex Metrica reports

Once a site is saved in the interface, Yandex Metrica automatically creates a new tag within 30 minutes to track your site's performance. To learn more, see How to enable reports.

After you place ad units on your site pages, Yandex Metrica starts collecting traffic statistics for these pages. This data is included in reports: click More → Metrica reports in the line with the desired site. To learn more, see Reports for evaluating the effectiveness of monetization.

Stopping and archiving a site

To stop displaying all ad units on a particular site, click Stop impressions in the line with the desired site. To resume ad impressions, click Start impressions.

A site that doesn't have statistics for impressions and clicks can be archived. To do this, click Archive. If a site has accumulated statistics, first stop ad impressions on this site and then archive it.

You can restore archived sites in the Archive tab.

I don't like the ads that were selected for my site

To disable impressions for ads that link to certain domains, you can block unwanted ads.

If you feel that the text or images displayed in ads violate the Yandex ad placement rules or Russian law, or have a negative impact on your traffic and user activity, please contact us via the feedback form. In your message, indicate the link that the ad directs to (a link like http://yabs.yandex.ru/count/...) or http://an.yandex.ru/count/...) and send a screenshot of the page.

Ads on the site do not match the site's theme

The Yandex Advertising Network may display ads based on user interests. This technology helps users see ads that interest them most, helps advertisers better target their intended audience, and helps partners earn more money.
