Moderation stages and timeframes

  1. The website or mobile app you specified when signing up are immediately submitted for moderation after you fill out the application form and accept the offer terms in accordance with the Terms of Participation in the Yandex Advertising Network. Once you do that, a content site or app with a unique ID and the Needs approval status will appear in the Products section of the YAN interface.
  2. The moderation process usually takes less than a day for websites and up to two days for mobile apps. However, it can take longer in some rare cases.

When your platform is approved, its status will change to Testing and you will receive a message containing the moderation results which can be viewed on the Notifications tab. The possible reasons why your resource may be rejected are outlined below.

  3. After a while, your website's status will automatically change to Working.

The application can also be rejected if your website:

  • “Is overloaded with ads”: ads take up more space on the page than the actual content or the ads completely obscure the content. To learn more about ad placement terms for Yandex.Direct and RTB ad blocks, see section 3.3 of the YAN Terms of participation.
  • Contains text that is automatically generated or doesn't make sense.
  • Is filled with invisible or barely discernible text or links.
  • Hosts altered or unaltered information copied from other resources.
  • Is difficult or confusing to navigate.
  • Automatically redirects the user to another resource or misleads the users into visiting another resource (hosts ads with no actual content).
  • Aggressively tries to link the user to another website or group of websites (link farming).
  • Displays different content to users compared to the content displayed to search engine bots (cloaking).
  • Uses fraudulent methods for getting clicks and impressions.

In addition to the fraudulent techniques described above, there are other techniques created to artificially influence a website's Yandex ranking or ad impressions. Using such techniques may also provide enough grounds to reject the application.

Attention. In addition to approving new resources that have just applied to join the YAN, Yandex may also perform repeat moderation of existing YAN members. If the results of repeat moderation reveal serious violations, the partner's website or account may be blocked. Learn more about blocking accounts
